I conducted a comprehensive AC service on a Trane XL18i system. I cleaned the condenser and evaporator coils with Nu-Calgon Evap-Pow'r, replaced the air filter with a MERV 11 model, and checked refrigerant charge using manifold gauges. I tested the capacitor, measured amperage draw on the compressor and fan motors, and lubricated all moving parts. I flushed the condensate drain line with algaecide solution and installed a float switch. I also cleaned the blower wheel, checked all electrical connections, and calibrated the ComfortLink II thermostat. Finally, I performed a complete system performance test in various operating modes.
